I was swept up with the pro Russia propaganda in the opening days of the war, and my cognitive dissonance was crazy watching day by day as it became more apparent that Russia fucked up the invasion massively. I thought SURELY they had a secret ace, that they were going to mass mobilize and recover victory form the jaws of defeat. Seems not.
Needless to say I learnt that my initial position was very wrong. It completely baffles me how there are people here right now who think Russia is winning in 2025. It's like reality doesn't factor into thinking at all for them.
