i feel like this chapter just confirms blackbeard won't be the one to kill imu. like his dad he knows his goal but is taking too many shortcuts to it with getting a bunch of strong but untrustworthy crew members. meanwhile rodger/ luffy are taking the longer route but are following joyboys inherited will, gathering an actually loyal crew and allies to fight against imu like in the mural prophecy
why would blackbeard get rewarded and for being a cheapskate in a series where the main message is to enjoy the journey?
