So, to the surprise of many people, I was one of the many people invited to a closed beta for an official fighting game based on the TV series The Owl House. Here are the things that were in the demo:
>The game is being developed by Arika (the same company behind Street Fighter EX) in partnership with Disney, and it is a 3D fighting game in the style of Tekken but with a Cellshading graphic style.
>The characters that could be played in the demo were Luz, Eda, King, Amity, Willow, Gus, Hunter, Lillith, Hooty and Raine. All the characters have designs that are similar or identical to their designs at the end of the series (with them as adults going to witch college). In addition, three new characters could also be played, Azazel (an adult witch), Modeus (a witch the same age as the protagonists) and Himiko (another human witch who is the same age as Luz at the beginning of the series).
>From what they said about the plot during the demo, these Witches came from another Titan, and Azazel mainly wants to dominate the entire magical kingdom for herself, but that's a very brief summary.
>Just to clarify that Dana Terrance has no involvement with the game or its story, many people asked this during the demo.
>Even though it was hard to hear, it was possible to notice that the game's soundtrack was sung, something like Guilty Gear Strive, in which each character had their own theme.
>I don't know anything about the reveal or release date, but seeing the state the game was in, it's safe to say that it's close or not too far from being announced.
