They removed the writer and retooled the movie to remove his gayness. Cope is that the movie would have done better had they not done that, but I remember the same cope over Brave and while Brave was also shit, I sort of doubt that the movie would have been much better if they'd left the original creative head in charge. Weeks is a very funny case because he wrote characters people loved like Mordin and Tali and then he...I dunno what you'd call it but after he changed he wrote shit like Taash so something inside him broke. Taash is just the funniest shit ever. They wrote a character to be nonbinary and made her stupid and rude and completely unlikable but refused to let you actually confront her in any way. It was like 4chan writing a nonbinary person meant to intentionally piss people off as some sort of propaganda piece to the point she got the only explicit sex scene while being the ugliest party member
