There is a faction in the intelligence community known as "prioritizers" or "restrainers". They still support Israel, but oppose wars in the middle east and against Russia, because they think it is a mistake for US strategic interests. They believe the US should stop fighting these wars, hand off middle eastern control to Israel, stop the war in Ukraine, and fight China instead.
