the problem is that chovy has mind melted the general league public into thinking lane matters now like it did in 2015. they see him go up 20 cs (~300-400 gold lead) and they're like "WOW HOLY FUCK LANE KINGDOM!!! CHOVY CARRY!!!" and they think that lead matters at all, when in reality both mid laners will hit their spikes at the right time for when it matters, like a dragon fight, and that 300 gold lead is doing nothing. of course, if someone gets something like a 1k gold lead in lane, then it matters. but impact is so much more than a stupid cs difference

last night, faker sacked 2 waves to get doran ahead, then another 2 waves (and a death) just covering the cross map dive so doran didn't die, and that alone won them the game because doran was doing so much every single fight and rest wasn't able to do anything since he was so behind. if all you did was examine lane you'd see hongq up like 30 cs or whatever it was and think he gapped faker in lane
