Adding onto the other anons points, I think a lot of people have forgotten the Biden presidency was generally very restrained. His entire agenda was unity and trying to compassion his way through the MAGA movement to return to normality while avoiding rocking the boat over Trump too hard, and this was also seen in his appointments (look into how hard his attorney general, Merrick Garland, absolutely bungled the regular criminal cases against Trump and the consistent delays involved in it) and the Epstein case has pretty much been open and closed with the general population. In their eyes, all that reigniting the Epstein files would've done is throw the country into even more disarray after the absolute clusterfuck that was 2020 and COVID and divide the country even harder after you go after your golden cow, like half the board is doing right now. At the time it all made sense early on but on the eve of the 2024 election it pretty much became clear that all it really did was allow the MAGA movement to fester and Trump being able to use the Epstein files as a major talking point to help with returning to power with an even stronger and more concretely pro-Trump Republican population and political base, which was obviously worth it to give himself an uphill advantage even if the very people who helped him there would become disillusioned and burned later on. He's a businessman, after all.
