Bear in mind the same reviewers who give Bananza top scores absolutely hated Tropical Freeze for being too "frustrating" (despite being very easy compared to classic DKC games). Tropical Freeze is easily one of the best 2D platformers ever and has a shitty low Metacritic score because of these freaks

Their reviews aren't worth dog shit and you actually have to be skeptical when they love a game

True but I don't think a game needs to be perfect to be a 10/10. But it's the type of flaws they mention and gloss over that are relevant. You can't give broken games like BotW on launch (and arguably to this day) or also Elden Ring on launch where scaling didn't even work properly and you could rush through the entire game spamming that ice stomp attack a perfect score. It's just obivously $$$
