You are jumping the gun waaaay too much.
And completely disavowing the human spirit.
It's not an extinction level event.
Sure it'll suck for us who had the creature comforts.
But anybody born too late to remember or after will essentially be resetting to the 1960s with an emphasis on competitive restructuring.
To those who wont make it due to medical or other means. Sadly, the world was never not hard. We just put up a temporary shield. It is what it is. They would not have existed in any other time and we can very easily go back.
