Unfortunately for any fiat currency fiends, Indians in general (and my state in particular) turn fiat into gold at obscenely high rates. In my hometown in Kerala, there are unironically more gold shops than supermarkets or grocery stores. idk if this infographic is 100% true but having seen and been in Malayali weddings, I'd believe it.
