What's the appeal on the newer designs on the classic characters? They all just seem to be completely unaffiliated to their historical design patterns.

I hate Ken's jacket, new Sagat looks like shit (classic costume is crazy good), new Bison almost lacks all the charisma and personality the character once had, so what's the appeal? To show the characters completely lore-wise ... and that's it?
