Honestly, if you kept your dead daughter's room shut like a mausoleum, and then you come home to find a stranger (who, if you were familiar with at all, would just be as a bully/troublemaker) playing with one of your dead daughter's most prized possessions, I'd probably freak out too.
In reality I think she just wanted to keep the code safe, but "Get your hands off that and get the fuck out of my house" is actually a pretty understandable response.
