Here's a genuine answer from someone who thinks this "password change" is stupid and artificial

1. 4chan is not a secret group, r/greentext has 1.4 million members, there's tons of youtube channels that do nothing but read posts from 4chan or from specific boards
2. Elden Ring is one the most popular games of the decade. It just sold 30 million copies + SoTe DLC, Nightreign spin-off and a movie on the works

1. /dsg/ has been trying to change /erg/'s name for over 3 years now. "/eroge/", "erg+/fsg/", "/nrg/", it's very easy to assume this is just another one of their bait attempts
1.1. It just so happens that, during the "password change" /dsg/ had more than 50 posts in a few hours (when their thread average is currently 37 per *day*)
1.2. Since the "password change" the thread slowed down and most of the posts are nothing but that, one person starts it and it turns into a shitshow from there. Exactly what /dsg/ wanted
2. /erg/ isn't a secret group, we had an ao3 page. /erg/ oc content gets reposted on youtube getting millions of views, twitterfags steal posts from here, etc, etc
Sometimes you have people here asking for 20 minutes straight for another person to join, PS players have to beg for a game to even start.
I won't bother replying to this further, /erg/ is tradition and it's been that way for 3 years, if you want to create your secret club you should start a discord instead.
