DDLC is basically a VN for people who fucking hate anime and VNs. Its whole gimmick is a meta twist where one of the characters is self aware and tries to change the story herself. Its supposed to be a commentary on VNs and dating sim games but it comes off more as bitter hatred of these things, like "stop enjoying this!!!".
