The cover plate isn’t solid, it’s vented so there’s more gas blowback when suppressed than there ought to be. A 3d printed solid cover and RTV might fix that, or adding an annular ring to the chamber like Seecamps use to delay blowback slightly. The slits for the charging handle on both sides don’t help either. This is feedback from people who have tried it and gotten gassed out.

Did you clean it first? That might have been the packing grease smoking off as it heated up. I’ve never had mine smoking even after mag dumps.
