I'll go with a small moment I love that rarely gets brought up - when Elmyra's telling her story following the flower girl's capture, the flower girl suddenly calls out to Elmyra. It's confusing for a moment, but as the screen pans up to show the flower girl (as a kid) come down the stairs, when it edges back downward the Avalanche team has disappeared and we're back in the flashback. It's an elegant scene transition and early proof that even though FF7's presentation style was new for the team that the director knew exactly what he was doing from the start.
