Does anyone remember the coronavirus pandemic from a few years ago?

Is it just my imagination, or are there way less people walking around than there were pre-2020? Everything seems emptier and the people you do see walking around look like there's nothing behind their eyes. Every walmart has like 20 cash registers and only one of them ever has a cashier.
