genshin is literally just amphoreus, some sort of simulation isolated from the rest of the REAL universe, that keeps repeating for some reason (in amphoreus's case, it's to act as a prison for a lord ravager which are beings strong enough to destroy entire galaxies)

descenders are just powerful enough beings to affect the simulation, which skirk isn't like surtalogi said in the trailer. mind you, the trailblazer and dan also weren't strong enough for that either which is why amphoreus is just going through another loop despite their "interference"

hell, even herta who is an emanator was only strong enough to break in amphoreus, which goes to show that descenders are probably atleast emanator-level beings
