In the Italian national anthem, there's a pretty sharp jab at both Austria, who brutally repressed the Italian independence movements, and Russia, who did the same to Poland. Naturally, since they were oppression buddies, this shared history of resistance shows up in the Polish national anthem too.
And yes, Russia’s still salty about it. They could never handle that kind of poetic shade.
