Yeah, author really wants to get across that she wants a more mature relationship but he just not there yet despite both of them clearly being in love, if this was another manga I could see the introduction of another possibly older guy as a temptation for her and a chance for him to man up, however after the Kyo and Ayame shit I don't expect anything to happen.
