John Foster Dulles was an American politician, lawyer, and diplomat. He was United States Secretary of State under President Dwight D. Eisenhower from 1953 until his resignation in 1959. He was the brother of Allen Dulles, whi served as the Director of Central Intelligence from 1953 to 1961. John was a member of the War Industries Board during World War I and he was a U.S. legal counsel at the 1919 Paris Peace Conference. He also became a member of the League of Free Nations Association, which supported American membership in the League of Nations. He was a founding member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the chairman of the board for the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, and a trustee of the Rockefeller Foundation.
In 1945, Dulles participated in the San Francisco Conference as an adviser to Arthur H. Vandenberg and helped draft the preamble to the United Nations Charter. In his book titled “War or Peace”, John Foster Dulles described how the United Nations, and its charter, would be a suitable instrument for enacting and implementing a one world government.
