I've never got the people who build a brand off of themselves first before they have actually made anything of impact. You basically just gotta pretend you are very knowledgeable or talented in order to get any respect, because there's nothing to show for their arrogance or self-importance.

Take Bobby Fischer, for example. He's arrogant and a moody dickhead but his skills and talents and accomplishments unironically convince people to let him get away with it or to simply ignore it. When he bitches and moans about "sensing" cameras filming him, he was ultimately taken seriously because he came back to become World Champion from a point of "fuck this, im out and you win unless the conditions are to my desire."
