I think Szechuan sauce is fine. I think Pickle Rick is fine. I think trying to attach any sense of sentimentality, character development, or monologue to those ideas is what makes them fucking shit. Rick & Morty was at it's best when it was sci-fi concepts turned on their heads with the humor being driven by Roiland's innate, nonsense improvised ramblings.
