I guess that's something that's pretty subjective but I disagree with you since in my experience in contrast to the brainless gameplay of 6, 4 actually has a pretty good flow in terms of making you think about positioning and making you switch between your weapons and baiting different melee options in order to control the crowds of enemies you have to defeat. Maybe you could say it is also pretty simple but I would argue that it has just enough to it that learning and going with its flow is pretty fun and rewards the optimizations you make to that flow by making you feel a sense of mastery over it that 6 just doesn't have due to its braindead nature.
