For non-major cutscenes? Sure. But for the actual meaningful ones they do unique stuff beyond Wow's stiff animations. WoW used to do pre-rendedered cutscenes even for patches. Legion had one, sometimes two a patch. Good fluid animations that helped sell that they could do some decent work.
Both games have the /talk emotes when starting quests but it could be worse

It may not be perfect, but XIV is at least better.
Re-watching these then Wrathgate really makes me wonder where the good people went. How did it get so shitty despite the better tech? Oh wait, it's California and Blizzard. What Kate is trying to slowly do to XIV.
