Refuting a single piece of text out of context is a protestant thing and has never been the way the Church operated for 2000 years. We know God is not the origin of evil. To suggest otherwise is therefore by definition your own misinterpretation of the Church's book, the Holy Scriptures. If you want to know what the Church believes about evil and sin and the whole origin of creation, that is a long topic but you are welcome to do research, or go to an Orthodox Church and just ask a priest directly.

I found picrelated answer from a priest regarding this question, and really it is just restating what I said earlier. You can't pick and choose individual verses out of context, otherwise you get crazy conclusions like the 40,000 protestant groups. Here is the article it comes from:
