Yknow, I was thinking a bit about that similarity too. I wonder if Subaru/OtoP was supposed to mirror aspects of Himari/Mii's relationship, similar as to how Juriel's development was supposed to be evocative of a HimaMitsu that weren't childhood friends. Subaru's flight response is pretty reminiscent of Himari's repeated behavior of running away when troubled, and OtoP's apparent control + idolization of Subaru is comparable to Mii's possessiveness + idolization of Himari. Just idle musings though, will see if anything comes from it.
