It's hard to know how seriously to take wanderer's statement that she seemingly only or mostly produces "garbage". It doesn't make sense that a mechanical genius like alain would produce garbage but wanderer also talks a lot of shit. Perhaps he did somewhat succeed with whatever goal he had for his dead sister but never was able to nail down replicating her personality, hence the A.I. took after the personality most readily available to it - Alain's.
