Posting this here instead of the homebrew and romhack general since it's currently not up.
I broke the PS1 version of original mode Wizardry 4 wide open for fun. Can spawn any item at any time, teleport anywhere on the current floor, have 9999 HP, -97 AC, both types of magic and infinite spells of all, as well as spawning any monster including the ones that only exist in Arranged mode, and as many of them as you want. The only two things I wasn't able to make gameshark codes for was forcing a shift to a different floor, and forcing an enemy encounter of a specific party. Now I've turned my attention to the Arranged mode, and everything related to Werdna directly is the exact same, so the same codes can be used.
Now when it comes to summoned monsters, that's where things are getting tricky. Instead of the 14 or so digits Original mode uses for summons, Arranged mode uses nearly 50. And they aren't neatly in a row like in Original mode, instead being spread out over RAM. I thought I carefully marked down every changed digit for summoning a LVL 1 Ninja in the first slot, but when I tried it, things were not right at all. In the menu it showed up as an error message, but appeared OK in battle, outside of having 9999 HP. When I went to look at the summon in the menu, that's when the game locked up while trying to find a portrait that doesn't exist. Pic related is what I got. The Ninja isn't supposed to be capable of magic, much less every spell, and the attack values are WAY off. He's supposed to have critical hits, not a breath attack and automatic regen.
