the implication would be that all of the top twitch streamers could be propped up by individuals/entities with access to a large amount of capital who basically just launder money through donations/subs in order to be paid back as an employee/contractor, giving an illusion of popularity and frontpage exposure to entice organic users (read: poor mentally ill people) to cough up their 10 bucks or whatever. it's one thing if it's just a scam, but it gets more sinister when you consider how public opinion amongst the youth has been so heavily manipulated by prominent voices on twitch
