Normies hate anyone who reminds them that they conform not out of choice but out of social pressure. They try to reassert the social norm to push away that terrible knowledge that they too have given up on the things they would enjoy in order to fit in. In order to maintain a secure identity as part of the herd, the outsider, the deviant, the non-conformist must be mocked and shunned.
