Nintendo has always been accused of being childish, even in the 1990s and early 2000s. It is not a new thing.
Ironically, the criticism of being childish mainly comes from teenagers who are only capable of playing easy, casual-friendly games like Call of Duty, and are unable to play games like Mario or the Legend of Zelda because even those games are too difficult for them and require too much attention.
I'm not seeing how Mario Wonder and DK Bananza are childish though, anon. Those games are bleeding with creativity and invention. I would have thought that the more sterile, mechanically-made games like New Super Mario Bros would be more childish, if anything.
