In this chapter Owata talks about how you need to think to improve your mental game. It's all just the usual "don't get discouraged by bad luck" advice that you've all seen before, with nothing being specific to sanma. Consequently I'm not going to translate any of it.

At the end of part 1 there's an essay where Owata talks a bit about how got his tenhoui in sanma. This also doesn't have any useful theory (or indeed any theory at all), so I'm skipping this, too.
And just like that we're done with part 1. Part 2 consists entirely of WWYDs. The first half of it will be "standard" problems, showing only tiles in hand, dora indicator, and sometimes other bits of info (e.g. seat, turn, etc.). The second half always has full bakyou information via tenhou screenshots.
