I feel like it mostly adds to their personalities and backstories (which is totally fine) but it does get tiring that sometimes their talents are mostly used for plot devices.
I like when they use it to help in the trial, like Mioda listening to Hanamura's voice, Tsumiki's autopsies, Gonta talking about the ropes in the second trial and Harukawa talking about how Chabashira died. These were nice uses of their talents.

Yeah.
I wish they actually animated the executions even for characters who didn't killed anyone in the extra gallery. It would be really nice to see executions for abstract talents like Sonia, Naegi/Komaeda and Amami.
