For the comunning trail you obviously need to start from the top(i took this image from google) and need to unlock them in its respective order

You just need to complete the challenges, and they will reward you with path points, once you get enough of those path points you will get to see the chapter of that path at the end of your active run, and once you do it you will get rewarded for clearing that chapter.
