someone said that production didn't like Shinji but I haven't seen proof of that. there was a point at the end when sam and jet were discussing the final challenge, they decided to make it boxing because grappling favored shinji too much. Then after the fight sam said even if TJ lost he would've dragged him out there and given him the 20k anyway. I don't think Sam was ever going to allow the ESL gooner to win. i liked shinji more than most desu, he floated a lot but he brought a uniquely comforting energy to the grim vibes of S2.
