Its not jump scare heavy but its pretty unsettling and ages decently despite being a PS1 title (though i've already mentioned that im easily unnerved). Twin Peaks and especially Jacobs Ladder are always cited by the art director as his inspiration so its easier to see how it disturbs players if you've already seen those two atmospheric works. One being surreal (Lynchian even!) and the other being psychological horror. Akira Yamaoka's industrial ambient soundtrack makes you feel a crushing amount of pressure coming down on you. It makes you feel like you're in Hell and that Hell is cold and metal for some reason. The soundtrack of the first four are constantly rereleased on vinyl for good reason and Ito and Yamaoka's names have been attached to many of the remakes and new games announced for even greater reason. Masahiro Ito's art and Akira Yamaoka's music IS what makes Silent Hill
