in that case i run like hell, avoid fights and go for the team rescue. Rescue using flash or fire or stealth, or by getting distance with Fotf.
If rescue is not possible (no utility + too many mobs) then it's time to kite the mobs and bonk them one by one. This is time consuming and dangerous and I only do it as a last resort.
Moral of the story: thunder hammer is not a great weapon for solo clutching.
