I don't think being able to communicate with nemesis would have killed her character even a little bit
it would have unlocked her character, actually. she'd have a whole slew of things she can finally communicate properly and the ability to interact with every other character in the game without krolik's involvement
she's got an interesting origin that could very, very easily tie into the main plot in a meaningful and interesting way. she's got the "I want to communicate with people and have fun but I'm locked in this stupidass manner of speech" thing going on as seen in glass island
right now "can't speak properly" is most of what she's got going on but it's not the entirety of what she has going on, and the ability to speak properly allows her to be developed into a complete character. she's even got a pretty distinct personality visible through the filter she has to put up with
