Consistently very Republican but our RINOs are a big issue and people periodically go full commie for some state official who says "I'm socially conservative but economically liberal." like Stalinist JBE. It's partially because we're a poor state (socialistic thinking), but also because RINOs will run on raising taxes while Democrats say "Nah, we're cutting taxes." and woosh Democrats win. Our GOP is simply overconfident at this point.

Every US state has state funded healthcare. There are some differences in the details of state healthcare programs in the US, but generally up until a certain income threshold the state offers heavily subsidized (effectively free, because you can pay for it with welfare checks) health insurance and from there the differences are in what the state's health insurance program offers. Since JBE, we've had the maximum threshold where the feds will subsidize the state health program, and under JBE the program was ridiculously overfunded and provided free sex changes for minors etc. but the Republican Governor we have right now cut all the gibs for trannies.

JD can remove her but Thune might still decide to comply with her existing rulings, which would make it difficult to reintroduce the provisions. Revising them first might be the way to go; if she refuses, then we remove her, "revise" again, and then say the new revision is compliant and have the new Parliamentarian approve it.

A recent Supreme Court ruling held that States could defund Planned Parenthood themselves, even if they were acting as intermediaries spending Federal money. The liberals were trying to force States to fund Planned Parenthood and preempt local bans among the States.
