Many countries have nukes. Pakistan has nukes. Pakistan is an Islamic republic, like Iran. What happened when Pakistan got nukes? Was there any security let alone existential threat? No. But the US stopped messing around with Pakistan.
You know who IS an extistential and security threat? Israel. That is the only entity after Hiroshima/Nagasaki that was going to use a nuke during war. Sinai, 1967. And again, in 1973. Only prevented by US/UK supplies saving their butt-holes. Not even Best Korea went that far. Yet they and Iran, which does not even have nukes (at least not deliverable ones), are the problem.
