I just came back from visiting my family in Venezia, and I never cease to be amazed at the lifestyle these fuckers get.
> Floating city with water, islands and cool old shit everywhere.
> Everyone owns a boat, and spend summer sundays having lunch and basking in the sun.
> Supermarket prosciutto, cheeses and wines that beat anything in the world, for cheap.
> Beaches in Lido
> Almost free university.
> Almost free albeit slow healthcare.
> High taxes
They live on low stress, strong community, and yet they take the time to complain and mock of some american dude paying top dollar to rent San Marco, as if they were the communists "partisans" everyone in Italy loves for some fucking reason, fighting for some freedom they never lost. Veneto (region) used to be a poor shithole of fishermen after WWII, and thanks to the capitalization and industrialization of the northern regions they now have a pretty good time.
