Every time I would get to the final warp in, I'd get an adrenaline dump and choke, so I gave up on maxing and just went for a completion

here's what I came up with (not good)
1 grab bfg
2 kill the 2 archies that spawn here
3 kill the 2 archies that spawn here, then try to get the cyber in the middle to shoot at you, otherwise everyone will chase you

I didn't realize the floor pits (red) can't be traveled by arch-viles until you mentioned it so using the spot marked 3 to instigate infighting is the most consistent so far
