Gaming was always somewhat popular, even in the arcade days. Anyone deluding themselves into thinking that it wasn't is pretending that games like Wipeout, Doom and GTA weren't system sellers back in the day.
I get being a hardcore gamer that pushes yourself to the limit, but a lot of you dudes are poorly adjusted nerds that want to get back at your bullies by shitting on their tastes in games (which even the most chill of dudebros had).
It was SJWs and their ilk that ruined gaming more than the shite but ultimately inoffensive tastes of dudebros. They just wanted to hang out, have fun, drink beer and look at hot chicks which is not only respectable but actually pretty fun.
