Funnily enough the only reason the Soviets were as successful as they were is because they just stole the credit from the Tsardoms industrialization.

The Tsardom had the right idea to industrialize slowly, it wouldn't curbstomp the Russian birthrates like they did in our timeline, but the Soviets, like the spastics they were, just did it anyways, built some commie blocks, and called it their victory.
