Yes, that's completely true, although I give credit to the Im@s adaptations for not screwing up too much in that regard, but considering how the last adaptations turned out, there may not be Het with him (because there isn't) the producer drags the series out more than he should.

Look what happened with GF, BA or FGO, the "player" character is the worst aspect and the series does nothing to make it even slightly decent and the other characters suffer because of it too, complain all you want about the Dolls' Frontline anime, but the female MC is not really a negative aspect.
Azur Lane and Alice Gear Aegis Expansion aren't perfect series, but at least the female characters shine on their own merits, and there's even yuri that helps the characters and the series a lot.
