A technology not talked about a lot is "In Vitro Gametogenesis" which is a process where they take pluripotent stem cells out of the human body (a type of cell that can become any type of cell including sperm and ova) and instruct it to become either sperm or egg, if we take for example the egg, this can now be fertilized with sperm and then inserted into either a surrogate or the original female patient we took the stem cells from.

This process would allow infertile women and post-menopausal women to reproduce by taking their stem cells and turning into ovum.
It also allows same sex couples to have kids, by taking one man's stem cell and creating an egg with the man's x chromosome and taking the y chromosome sperm from the man, you can fertilize the egg and implant it into surrogate. This has already been done successfully with mice which had two fathers, the mouse was fertile and had no issue.

The future of reproduction of entails making use of In Vitro Fertilization with focus on In Vitro Gametogenesis allowing anyone to become a parent, with further focus on embyro screening and CRISPR gene editing in order to ensure the child has the traits the parents want (gender, intelligence, height, immune system etc)
