At best it was simply curiosity, but some looked at you with a frown. Though you suppose the latter wouldn't really be pleased by anything you did. Ultimately, wearing something like this was bound to come eventually with the whole 'reincarnated into another world' thing, and a situation like this one was probably the best shot you had at getting away with it.
"And your respect is much appreciated." Ai cut in, her words sincere. "Thank you for honoring us, Savant Lord." She enunciated the last bit.
"Indeed." Eisho said, loud enough for everyone to hear. "You've been a great help to us. I am certain that Aneko would be happy to know you are here."
But sadly these greetings would need to be cut short, as Eisho and Ai went to get Ryko after quickly greeting you once again. Starting with the three of them, people were beginning to leave as well. Being Aneko's closest relatives, Eisho, Ai, and Ryko— guided by some monks and shrine maidens— also went aboard the airship.
You were able to get a good look at the airship from this angle— not as large as The Vixen's Luck, it had an intricate design on its hull and ornate decorations on its deck. There seemed to be some kind of temple in the back of it, where the captain's quarter's should've been.
A boat horn went off the airship, lasting around ten seconds and breaking the dignified silence with its reverberating sound. For a moment you thought something was wrong, but from the looks on everyone's faces this was completely expected. Ayane would later explain that this was a symbolic act— showing everyone that Aneko was taking her leave from this realm.
After seeing that everyone was already leaving or in the process of doing so, you made your way out with Ayane.
"Master, I must thank you." Your kitsune wife said as you both got on another flying ferry to return to the inn.
"This sounded like the sort of thing I shouldn't skip out on." You said, thinking about how there would be a funeral tomorrow for Aneko.
"I would've understood if you didn't wish to attend, my love. But my gratitude isn't just because you came with me today, even though that alone means much to me." Ayane continued. "It's also because of the conversation you had with my sister yesterday... I fear she might've harbored ill will against us had you not decided to speak with her."
"Good to know we sorted all of that out."
"More like I sorted it out for you!" Yumi suddenly said with great pride.
"Hey there. I was wondering when you'd wake up." You said to the little ghost.
"What you should realize, o foolish mortal Maste- Savant Lord! Verily, I knew that I, being the wise and wandering specter of fate, foresaw that the manifestation of an ethereal spirit would unleash a tempest of inquiries upon the mortal realm." Which was her way of saying she didn't want to cause trouble. A strangely thoughtful act from her— though at this point she was often being helpful to you for your own sake.
