Yeah in the SW it can open up to flat desert and you can really see the clouds. Sometimes it's blocked by mountains/canyons/etc but sometimes it's pretty flat there

Yeah the great plains remind me of the Steppes or Mongolia haha I'm not sure why you guys don't get tornados there it must be how the air gets funneled through the plains here. And yeah it is a very big tornado area

The little castle thingy on the bottom right marks the highest point in South Dakota. I like how it's totally dwarfed by the clouds
