My mom married my (step) dad when I was like 16 years old. I’ve met my step-sister like a grand total of five times. She lives in New York somewhere to pursue her medical career. One time I sent her a text wishing her happy birthday and she replied with a wall of how much her mom abused her and how much she hates my dad for, according to her, not doing anything about it. It got to a point where she can’t be bothered to give my dad so much as a text message on his birthday. My dad kept trying to reconnect with her these past few years but he’s slowly starting to forget her thankfully. He keeps decreasing her share of his will more and more as he gives bigger and bigger shares of it to me and my brothers. I feel kinda bad that my dad couldn’t meet the kids he never had until we were already late teenagers, but better late than never I guess. As for my step-sister, she could be dead for all I know or care about her. My dad’s a great dude, I know for a fact whatever problem they had was entirely on her and her mother.
